Nevada has different levels of state courts that have the authority to handle different types of cases.
The Nevada Supreme Court is the highest court in the Nevada Judicial System. The Nevada Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals are referred to as appellate courts. The trial courts are the District, Justice, and Municipal courts.
