Hiring an Attoney

If you do not qualify for a pro bono attorney for your legal issue and want to hire an attorney but don’t know anyone who practices in the area of law in which you need help, you can get a referral to an attorney from the State Bar of Nevada Lawyer Referral Service.

Contact the Lawyer Referral Service online or call them at 702-382-0504 or toll-free at 800-789-5747. The service is free and attorneys agree to provide a 30 minute consultation for no more than a $45 fee.

Non-Attorney Document Preparers

Find information on non-attorney document preparation services that you can pay to fill out legal forms. They are required to register with and are regulated by the Nevada Secretary of State’s Office. They may call themselves paralegal services but they are not supervised by an attorney, and they cannot give you legal advice or appear in court. BEWARE if you use a document preparer instead of a lawyer; you might save money in the short-run but could lose important rights.
